Tom Sawyer Waistcoats is part of an independent Limited Company, Tom Sawyer Ltd, with a registered office at Unit 1, Park Cottages, Totnes Road, Ipplepen Devon TQ12 5TD. Our workroom, storage, engraving and dispatch facilities are in nearby Totnes. We are a leading supplier of Waistcoats, Neckwear, accessories and gifts for Weddings and Special Occasions in the United Kingdom, also exporting to Europe, the U.S.A. and Australasia.
The Company is owned and managed by Pete & Jan Sawyer, who have full responsibility for the day to day running of the business and are actively involved in the manufacturing process.
The Tom Sawyer Waistcoat range was first launched in 1996 in response to our customer’s needs – good quality, individually made to customer's requirements, and, delivered on time.

"As I was planning my Ensemble, I consulted noted sources for the history and customs of Morning Dress. This wasn't easy in the USA, as the formality of this dress seems to have been overtaken by our "casual" dress fad.
I had already sourced a Morning Coat and trousers, and needed a Shirt to go along with it. All my internet searches kept bringing me back to Tom Sawyer waistcoats. And so, the silly Yank, endeavoured to make a transatlantic purchase of a Victorian Winged Collar shirt. Without ever talking to Tom Sawyer, they dispatched the shirt, by Royal Air Post, and in less than a week I had my shirt. It was stunning. Simply.
A US tailor was unable to execute a simple Tie Cravat, making a boy's sized Day Cravat instead. So, without ever breaking a sweat, I reached back out to Pete, and the team at Tom Sawyer waistcoats. Pete was excellent, AGAIN, and mentioned that there wasn't enough time to send swatches, to me. I reassured Pete, that swatches weren't necessary. I had ordered 4 Scrunchie Cravat's. I asked him to just execute that order, and I would choose upon my wedding day. Time was just too late, given the US failure to understand this style.
Again, in a week's time, the Cravat's arrived. They are simply stunning. They will be a marvelous addition to my Wedding Ensemble, all because of the hardwork, professionalism, and craft of the good Folks at Tom Sawyer Waistcoats."

I was young, incredibly naive, and fortunate enough to be playing with a Dutch Band who had had a number of Continental Chart hits. I fully expect your waistcoat to produce a similar result......without the ongoing costs that buying an overpriced, incredibly unreliable, and almost lethal projectile, that had cost more than a semi in suburbia did at the time, visited upon me.....But - previous comments notwithstanding - It was incredibly good fun to drive, Doormen at Hotels - including The Dorchester - held the doors open, and my father's friend's prediction was 110% accurate. I wore the waistcoat with the kilt and an Argyle Jacket today; Despite the fact that I appear to be rivalling the Incredible Growing Man in avoirdupois, a bloke and his girlfriend came up to me in Cheltenham and said "Now, that's what I call style!" I'm now working on a ploy to separate complimentary blokes from their ladyfriends (Hmm - vice versa methinks).....Without them getting too ratty, of course."
